Roaming Around Rome.

For the past nine years, my friends Ann, Jane and I have celebrated our birthdays together as our birthdays are only a week apart. This year, we wanted to celebrate in a grand way for many reasons. First, I no longer live in the same state as my friends. Second, Ann is about to have a baby, so a last girls trip before baby girl, Elle arrives is a must!!! And lastly, but most importantly, we entered into our thirties. Our top vacay picks were Greece and Italy. Flights happened to be cheaper and flight times seemed to match better for all of us to go to Italy, so we knew it was meant to be.

We flew into Rome and stayed in the city for two days to take in all the history before heading to the South of Italy for some much needed R&R. Of course, we went to the most Instagrammable spots as you’ll see from my vlog below. Sharing my tips below.

  • Trevi Fountain: If you want to take a picture here you MUST go as early as possible. We went at 4 A.M. to reserve our spots before the crowd arrived. I don’t recommend going as early as we did because we had to wait for the sunrise to get the right shots, but definitely recommend going around 6/7 A.M.

  • Colosseum: Didn’t go inside for the tour as my friends have already done this before but what I can share is where the Instagrammable spot is. Go to the Colosseo Metro Café. Walk up the stairs to the top, turn left, and there’s a small parking lot area and subway station entrance right in front of you. Face left, and BAM the Instagrammable spot.

  • Spanish Steps: You can take a bottle of wine, snacks, and pizza to take in the gorgeous view with your friends. We went at night, and loved seeing the the city lit up Highly recommend going to the restaurant right next to the Spanish Steps that overlooks all of it, so you can take it all in and people watch, while you dine on pizza and wine. And of course, have a glass of Aperol spritz.

Hope you enjoy the first leg of my Italy vlog. More to come!
